The Foundation’s Mission

The Foundation exists to support scientific research, particularly climate science, and to translate this research into forms that can be understood, felt, and acted upon by a broad public. By making complex knowledge accessible and imaginable, the Foundation helps bridge the gap between scientific insight and societal impact.

This purpose is realised through the development of programmes, events, educational and training initiatives, and exhibitions. Each is designed to transform research into engaging experiences that expand understanding, inspire action, and advance the Foundation’s mission.

Finance

Woven Foundation funds its activities through grants and contributions from public and private funds and revenue from partnerships and collaborations.

Woven Foundation is a non-profit organisation. All proceeds are used to further the foundation’s objectives.

Management and board

The Foundation’s Executive Board consists of:
Sophie de Krom (Chair and Treasurer)
Thijs Biersteker (Secretary)
Andrea Bandelli (General Board member)

The Executive Board does not receive compensation for their work.

The Foundation is currently seeking to appoint a Supervisory Board comprising at least three members. The Supervisory Board will oversee the Executive Board, approve key strategic decisions, and provide guidance to the management team
